SHARED ADVENTURES IN EXTRAORDINARY PLACES
We are excited to offer our Fully Funded “Add Nature” Exercise Physiology and Wellness Program to our Community.
This means I now get to deliver an Exercise Physiology Program, where I aim to PARTNER 🤝 E M P O W E R 💪🏼 and E D U C A T E 👩🏼‍⚕️ you in a way that places your Health in your Hands, whilst embracing and exploring our natural environment and local areas.
By raising the awareness of Exercise as a modality to assist mental health, wellbeing and chronic disease, the profession of Exercise Physiology complements the needs of our diverse community.
Using Exercise as the first line of preventative health, connecting the community through activity and companionship. A different approach to typical exercise and therapy, allowing provision of therapy in more ways than traditional clinics can offer, with a focus on the social aspect and specific skill development or capacity attainment at every turn.
Having a community established physical activity schedule available, alongside individual program support. it’s an opportunity to combine the passion for health and outdoor adventure, to make real impact on people’s lives.
Sessions may include, but not limited to Hiking, Stand Up Paddling, Pilates, Tai Chi, Boxing for Fitness, Women’s Health Programs including Pelvic Floor Program, Falls Prevention, Health Coaching, Nutrition Basics, alongside conducting Health Workshops appropriate to demographic of participants/clients in the program.
Make sure you email or message us today to Register. For a quick response contact me on the Facebook Page at Add Nature or for a slower response as the project gets under way, please email us:
Can anyone access the funded classes?
Only those who are willing to participate in the program, complete any required paperwork and questionnaire’s and allow for communication with your GP if required. It is especially for those who are currently inactive or not meeting the physical activity guidelines of 30 minutes of exercise on most days.
What is a pre-screening?
An exercise screening is just a short questionnaire and/or consult (15-30 mins) to determine if it’s safe for you to exercise. If there are any red flags, you will be referred to a GP before starting exercise.
What happens at the assessment?
The assessment involves low-intensity tests and a physical activity questionnaire conducted before and after the program. This assessment only takes a few minutes. You will also be issued with some Wellness questionnaire’s, Insurance forms etc that will be required to be returned prior to our first Adventure or Class.
What are the classes like?
The classes can vary depending on the provider, and can range from circuit strength classes, Pilates, walking group or clinical classes. Check with schedule to find a class that best suits you. We will also show case other Health and Fitness Providers currently operating in the area.
Can I do more than one class per week?
Participants will only be subsidised for classes provided specifically by our Exercise Physiologist: Trissi.
Other provider’s in our area have subsidised classes and regular classes throughout the week that we encourage you to join.
What happens when the program comes to an end?
You will be eligible for a funded post-assessment and the provider will work with you to develop a plan to maintain your activity levels based on your preferences. You may continue in the same class as a fee-paying participant, join other classes with the provider, or be referred to other community exercise activities and volunteering opportunities.
What if I can’t make it to a class one week?
If you’re unable to make it, you should contact your provider as soon as possible. We have a 48hr cancellation policy which will be explained at the beginning of the program.
